Dianthus are hardy and grow in a wide variety of garden climates. Dianthus have single or double blooms that can last through spring, summer and fall. Most Dianthus have purple or pink blooms with white, red or cream colored accents and are fragrant. Dimensions: Dianthus can grow anywhere between 6″-36″ tall and wide. Full sun is preferred but will tolerate part shade though the blooms might not be as prolific. Snipping blooms off for cut flower arrangements will encourage better flower production. Evergreen foliage keeps the Dianthus interesting year-round and the long flowering season means the plant provides bright colors in spring, summer and fall.
